THE BET (short film) by the Youth Empowering Parkdale Parkdale Project!

Pictured above from left to right Mithila, Meena, Ayesha, Sezen, Shirly and Gowttam

"This is the first skit from the Youth Empowering Parkdale Project, a group formed through partnerships with St.Christopher House and Toronto Public Health. The focus of the group, aged 13-15, is to create empowering and educational short films around issues of drug awareness. This skit, entirely scripted, acted and conceptualized by Parkdale Youth, speaks to the issues of peer pressure, under aged drinking and low self esteem. Everyone is a hero, so in this skit, the superheroes 'tear' into normal clothing to take care of their community! Watch out for SOBER SAM, SAFETY SUE, OUT OF HAND MAN and MISS MISCHIEF TOO!"
